Collaboration:  

KickStart offers GoToMeeting as their collaboration tool. While this is an effective feature, it is not included in the program and does come at an additional fee of $49 a month. GoToMeeting is a downloadable program through which you can conduct unlimited online meetings with up to 10 attendees.

Resource Management:  

One of KickStarts strengths is the easy user interface which includes tabs for every aspect of a project, with the exception of a resource tab. We really wanted to see something that laid out the resources that would be needed to get this project going. The closest thing they had to a resource management tool was a tab for ‘people’ and an area to make general notes.

Project Management:  

A great feature KickStart offers is the simplistic user interface, which is organized into tabs. The Project Management Wizard walks you through creating a project plan including picking goals for your project, who will do what, at what time, and what obstacles could prevent the project from running smoothly.

After you’ve made your way down the tabs and have affectively planned out a project, you can follow the progression of your project in the Gantt chart. This is a great tool for the purpose of tracking and editing your project.

Ease of Use:  

We think this software is just as good, if not better, than our top rated products as it pertains to ease of use. It is both visually pleasing and easy to navigate. The tabs on the left of the screen make moving through the project development process incredibly easy and understandable.

KickStart was also extremely easy to install. We did not encounter any problems and were able to get up and running in no time.

Help/Support:  

We could not have been more pleased with Project KickStart in this category. As soon as we downloaded their trial product we were instantly sent an email with instructions and contact information. We were also given the direct line of their Global Sale Manager for additional questions.

Project KickStart is also backed with free 24/7 customer support by phone. This is a rare service for project management manufacturers to offer, but Project Kick Start does. Project KickStart runs on all recent Windows operating systems. Basically, this company knows how to take care of its customers.

In summary, Project KickStart is an adequate project management program for smaller projects, that perhaps have one project manager making the decisions, and doesn’t require a lot of collaboration of multiple managers, team members or a CEO.
